The Voice
This new reality TV singing competition is the new must-watch of the season. Telemundo

Everyone thought they were safe watching "La Voz Kids." A group of singing kids that would make our Sunday night a little less dull and a little more entertaining. Boy were we wrong. It was beyond entertaining. It was TV gold!

This has probably been one of the most intense premieres ever, with kids whose stories are worthy of a soap opera of their own, and talent so pure that moved more than one to tears.

Paulina Rubio, Prince Royce and Roberto Tapia, the coaches, made sure to put on a great show, opening the season with "Mi primer millón," a song originally performed by Latin American group Bacilos, and once more, reassuring their undeniable chemistry and camaraderie even though they're basically competing against each other.

Daisy Fuentes and Jorge Bernal were in charge of guiding us through this musical journey as the judges got ready to be blown away by the kids' voices.

The first one to give the "Blind Auditions" a try was Miguel Angel, from Borrego Springs, CA. He's known as "El Potrito de Sinaloa" and interpreted a "banda" song that made all three judges turn their chairs around. He became the first contestant in Team Tapia.

Adriana Cortina from Miami came in next, and sang Selena Gomez's hit "Hit the lights". She scored a spot on Team Royce and was more than happy to make her dream of kissing "The prince of Bachata" true.

Then came Kim, and enchanted us with her story and amazing voice. She recently went through an operation to remove a cancerous tumor she had on her neck. After a year of chemo, she's finally doing great. But that's not all of her story. When she was only 5, her 12-year-old brother died as a victim of bullying and that's affected her in many levels. She says when she sings, it's a way of connecting with her brother and remembering the good memories.

She did Gloria Trevi's "Me rio de ti" and with tears on her face, she accepted Paulina Rubio's invitation to join her team.

Paola was another sensation of the night. With Adele's "Turning Tables" she sure turned all three chairs, as the coaches started promoting themselves to get Paola on their team. After a lot of convincing, Prince Royce was the lucky coach to count with this talent on his team.

Sensation Alesiram Meza, wowed the crowd with Selena's "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom". She sang for her mom, who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer two years ago, and after a double mastectomy and chemo sessions, she was able to watch her little girl make it in the stage of "La Voz Kids" and will be able to follow her journey as part of "Team Rubio."

Jennifer Ruby sure made a positive impression with La Quinta Estación´s "Algo más" but this is not the first time the young star has impressed big crowds. Ruby was invited by Ednita Nazario to open her concert in front of 25,000 fans and after nailing it, we don't think she'll have any issues on this stage.

Another reality TV former contestant made it to "La Voz Kids" stage ready to charm the coaches. "Teen Idol" participant Ángela Rodriguez is only 13, but life has taught her to be very mature and make the most out of her talent. Her mom has suffered many heart attacks, scaring the family, but making it through, and Ángela herself says she doesn't have many friends because she just started in a new school and her new classmates made her life impossible bullying her on Facebook. As a member of "Team Royce" she says she's ready to prove to the world that she's a fighter just like her mother, and a few bumps in the road won't keep her from achieving her dreams.

Other participants that also shined were Geoffrey, Yensid Anderson and Alan. At the end of the first night, Team Rubio has 4 members, Team Royce 3, and Team Tapia 2.
