"Kingdom Hearts III" was revealed to be in development at E3 2013, and since that time we've gotten a few trailers, gameplay videos and loads of rumors. This most recent rumor is in regards to the games development and mentions that there may possibly be an issue that is causing the titles release date to be postponed by as much as year or two.
According to The Christian Times, fans who were expecting a 2016 release for "Kingdom Hearts III" should lower their expectations as a known voice actor playing a leading role in the forthcoming title has confirmed he has not starting recording for the game yet.
Voice actor Quinton Flynn, who voices the lead character Axel in the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise, took to Twitter to join in on a discussion about the titles development. Though Flynn only has limited information to share, he does reveal that he has not recorded a line for his part in the game. Flynn wrote on Twitter:
"Speaking of Axel, when is the new Kingdom Hearts going into production? Step it up. Quinton needs to pay his bills." Check out the tweet below.
From the tone of the tweet we can ony assume Flynn is not happy with how long the development is taking for "Kingdom Hearts III," and a lot of fans share his feelins.
But it's not all bad news. As Design & Trend reports, voice actor Jim Cummings has already been called in by Square Enix to do recordings for his role in "Kingdom Hearts III."
Square Enix is currently busy with other projects at the moment and has seemingly placed "Kingdom Hearts III" on the back burner. The publisher revealed it is bringing the mobile title "Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ" to fan and has delivered. The game is currently available from the iTunes Store or from Google Play.
The mobile title is a prequel to the "Kingdom Hearts" series as a whole, set 100 years before the events of "Kingdom Hearts." It takes place before the Keyblade War, the event which established the current organization of the "Kingdom Hearts" universe.
