Square Enix held an E3 press conference today, June 16, where the company revealed new titles and detailed some of the already revealed games. The studio showed off a new trailer for "Rise of the Tomb Raider," showed off a new gameplay trailer for "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" and introduced new footage for a new "Hitman" title.
But nothing was more sought after than "Kingdom Hearts III" and Square Enix did not disappoint. The studio not only revealed a new mobile game that will add to the storyline for "KH3," but they also showed off a new gameplay trailer which featured never-before-seen footage. Check out the trailer below along with these four other things we learned from the new video.
1. Keyblade Transformations are real and awesome. We witnessed the Keyblade transform into dual pistols, a cannon and Sora was able to do long range damage by summoning small whirlwinds. Aside from all those features we also seen the keyblade shoot fire, slice and dice enemies and do so much more!
2. The stages of "Kingdom Hearts III" are much more massive and open world. Sora is seen fighting on a mountaintop and ends up jumping off a cliff to another level to continue battling with the swarm of enemies. There is another short clip of Sora racing up a mountainside to fight with a giant stone like creature. The gameplay trailer looks to feature only one stage but from the looks of it, that stage is pretty massive in size.
3. Speaking of stages and worlds we learned at least one Disney film will have its own, "Tangled." Before the new "Kingdom Hearts" gameplay trailer was shown two Disney reps appeared on a screen to discuss the progress of the title and revealed that at least one new Disney movie will be featured in the new game. After "Tangled" was revealed to be that particular Disney movie we seen a short clip of Sora arriving to what looks like Rapunzel's tower.
4. Sora can summon or create different forms of transportation for battle. We seen the protagonist use his Keyblade to summon or create whirling tea cups, a massive ship, a few roller coaster cars and a chariot attached to a Pegasus that shoots lightning from above (looks very "Hercules" to us).
