Kimberly Castillo, Miss Dominican Republic 2014, feels lucky to be alive after having survived a tragic car accident earlier this week. Although she feels very blessed to be able to share her story with only a few scratches on her body, Castillo is very upset with certain bystanders and cops present at the accident scene Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. when Castillo was on her way to Santo Domingo for a business meeting. According to the former Miss Universe contestant, a red truck changed lanes and impacted Castillo's white vehicle. "He decided to change lanes without paying attention, without putting on his signal, and without a purpose (considering no one was in his lane)," she expressed on Instagram, revealing that this caused her car to swirl five times on the road before falling on a ditch upside down.

"I almost lost my life because of this animal," she stated. In an interview with CDN 37, the 27-year-old beauty queen opened up about the tragic mishap, describing the moment she tried to unbuckle her seatbelt as the most desperate three seconds of her life.

Slipping through shattered glass and making it out alive, Castillo told reporters the aftermath was a shocking experience. "A lot of people came to help me, but instead, they start stealing my stuff," she said, feeling upset that robbers took her bag that had important paperwork and samples.

"I was going to Santo Domingo because I had an important meeting," she said. "The meeting was to finalize the launch of my brand. I had many samples and they robbed everything," she added, begging those who have the bag to not leak the information beforehand.

On her Instagram post and on the show, Castillo called out Dominican authorities for their lack of service, revealing that one of the officers from the Autoridad Metropolitana de Transporte (AMET) was no help. "The only thing he did was scream at me and ask for my license," she said, adding that he did not care about her health condition or about the suspect who fled the scene.

Despite her horrible experience, Castillo said she's grateful for her father-in-law and a man called Ramon, both men helped her during the accident.
