Reports suggest drama is brewing between Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus after the Skims founder unfollowed the pop star on Instagram following a New Year's Eve special with Pete Davidson, who was serenaded by the singer with the song titled "It Should've Been Me."
According to Page Six, an eagle-eyed Miley Cyrus fan account dubbed @MileyEdition revealed that the makeup mogul, 41, was following the “Wrecking Ball” singer on IG on Dec. 10. At the time, Cyrus went to Pete's Staten Island condo following their “Tonight Show” guesting in Miami on Friday.
However, as of Tuesday, Kim, who was spotted leaving the same unit in December following a romantic weekend with her younger beau, 28, was reportedly no longer listed as one of Cyrus' over 156 million followers.
The "Saturday Night Live" funnyman and Cyrus, 29, co-hosted the NYE extravaganza and performed a version of Will Smith’s hit “Miami."
The wild bash, which saw Miley welcome the New Year with a new song and an epic wardrobe malfunction, featured performances from various artists, including her sister Noah, 24kGoldn, and Brandi Carlile, the Daily Mail noted.
Before the NYE special, Cyrus seemingly flirted with Davidson while promoting the event as she serenaded him on “The Tonight Show” with her cover of “It should have been me.”
Sources believe the lyrics spoke volumes to Kardashian, whom Davidson has been dating since late October, resulting in her move to take heed of the "I Adore You" hitmaker.
For a month, Miley had been teasing the special to fans on IG and in one post, joked about Pete's so-called "big d*** energy" in reference to his manhood.
Meanwhile, despite the public's anticipation that Davidson would spend the special occasions with his 41-year-old lover and her kids, Pete instead celebrated his New Year’s Eve live on TV with Cyrus.
Kim and Pete only reunited this week for a trip to the Bahamas via a private jet, marking their first big public vacation since they started dating.
However, an insider familiar with the situation said the pair is making the most of it as they are about to spend more time apart due to their busy careers.
“The two weren’t able to ring in the new year since she was with her family in California and Pete was hosting his NYE special [with Miley Cyrus] in Miami," the source explained per Elle.
"[They] know they have a busy couple of months coming up with her company rebrand and Pete filming various projects, so they wanted to take some time to spend together before things ramp up," they added.
Last month, an insider also claimed that the comedian has been the best antidote for Kim following the end of her seven-year marriage with rapper Kanye West.
“He's exactly what Kim needed after her divorce—someone to make her laugh and just have a fun time with,” the source said.
