Kia announced today that its 2013 Kia K9 range-topping luxury sedan is headed for a global release in the fourth quarter of 2012. The K9 was initially released domestically in May.
Renamed the 2013 Kia Quoris (pronounced chorus) for the international market, Kia Executive Vice President of International Business Thomas Oh said, "The name of our new flagship sedan hints at the attributes at the very heart of the vehicle. The word 'Quoris' conveys solidity, luxury and high technology, all resonating together as a chorus.
"Our decision to give this striking new sedan an unconventional name means it will stand out even further from the established crowd."
The rear-wheel-drive Kia Quoris luxury sedan borrows underpinnings from the Hyundai Genesis. Engine trim offerings include a 3.6 liter V6 engine producing 286 hp and the Hyundai Lambda 3.8 liter GDI direct injection V6 producing 329 hp. Kia also offers an eight-speed gearbox.
Inside, expect the Quoris to be crammed with all the latest in infotainment technology as well as active safety systems including advanced smart cruise control, blind-spot detection, lane departure warning, 360-degree around view monitoring and advanced vehicle safety management.
To promote the Quoris for its global release, Kia has released invited two reporters to Seoul for a chance to experience the new luxury sedan at its home city.
