Kendall Jenner Draws Flak For Upstaging Pal Bride, Attending After-Party In Wild Cut Out Dress

Fans are slamming American supermodel Kendall Jenner for her lack of wedding guest etiquette after donning a black cut-out dress to a friend’s nuptials. It came after Kim Kardashian wore a head-turning Rick Owens gown at Paris Hilton's wedding.

On Thursday, Jenner attended the wedding of pal Lauren Perez. After the vows were exchanged, the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star opted for a revealing black dress from Mônot’s SS22 collection for the reception, according to the Independent.

The over-the-top outfit revealed much of her skin after leaving her midriff bare and featuring large diamond-shaped cut-outs.

Her choice of an eye-popping dress has since sparked social media debate for being inappropriate for the occasion the same way half-sister Kim was criticized at Hilton's Bel Air Estate nuptials. Some even said Jenner was already "half-naked" for the party.

"Oh, this is in such bad taste. Hoping the bride approved this first but IDK what bride would ever," a Twitter user named @thatgirlneedsx tweeted.

Meanwhile, another user, @themiumiumuse, would share a screenshot of Jenner's story on her Instagram Story, captioning it with, "How Kendall goes like that to a WEDDING, girl."

Yahoo! News reported that lifestyle and etiquette expert Elaine Swann, the founder of The Swann School of Protocol, agreed that Jenner's fashion choice was overly flattering.

"The dress is fantastic. It's gorgeous. It fits her very well," she said. "It's just not one that you would wear to a wedding."

As part of the etiquette guidelines in attending a wedding, attendees are expected to refrain from wearing white outfits or colors close to white unless the dress code states otherwise, Swann explained.

She added that attendees must also exercise a good sense of judgment and avoid donning an outfit that could upstage the bride on her special day, something that Kendall may have made a misstep.

Meanwhile, many fans took to social media to defend Kendall, saying the socialite had followed the dress code for the beach wedding ceremony like all the other bridesmaids, who were all in a Bec and Bridge strapless, aqua dress.

Over the weekend, Jenner and sisters Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe, as well as Hailey Bieber, attended Simon Huck and Phil Riportella's wedding.

Fans were again quick to notice that Kendall seemed to have skipped the black memo after being the odd one out in the group photo, according to Cosmopolitan. However, Kim also didn't get the assignment and instead donned a royal blue outfit for the celebration.
