Becoming an instant celebrity during the 2013 BCS National Championship game after ABC broadcaster Brent Musberger took some time away from the game to talk about how beautiful the model is, Katherine Webb's stint on the ABC reality program "Splash" has come to an end.
Following an injury suffered during a practice dive, Webb announced on the last episode of the program that she will no longer be able to continue. According to the 23-year-old, she first felt pain after landing awkwardly during a practice session. Not feeling the same since, she knew she had no choice but to step away.
"I've had the worst time training this week because even the most simplest dives shot pain all the way from the middle of my back down my leg," Webb said on the show. "I went to the doctor and unfortunately he told me I'm out for the competition."
If a contestant on the Splash program elects to leave on their own for any reason, the most recent person to be eliminated can return. That meant comedian Louie Anderson would once again have a chance to advance further in a competition he so desperately wanted to succeed in.
Knowing he was not going to move ahead of former USA soccer star Brandi Chastain, Anderson elected to resign on his own accord.
"You know, I really went further than I ever thought I could," Anderson said on the show. "I know I have very little chance of winning this competition."
Katherine Webb is currently dating University of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron. Upon exiting the show, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model and 2012 Miss Alabama USA posted kind words on her Twitter account.
