Before she became a royal, Kate Middleton did things women her age normally do. When Kate finished college, she breathed a sigh of relief. Although Kate was born into a wealthy family, she made it a point to earn a living after graduating from Scotland. Her first job was as an accessory buyer for British retailer Jigsaw. She also worked as a photographer, web designer and marketing officer for their family business, Party Pieces. She continued working in their company until she married Prince William.
