Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, are stylish, classy and intelligent women whom royal family fans often compare to the princes’ late mother, Princess Diana. But aside from their impeccable fashion sense, some experts are now comparing them based on their handwriting as well.

Graphologists study various aspects to a person’s handwriting to glean something about the writer’s personality. Experts believe that each handwriting has its own unique character that could serve as the clue to its author’s personality.

Forensic handwriting examiner Sheila Lowe analyzed Kate, Meghan and Diana’s handwriting and came up with an interesting conclusion. When it comes to their public image, Meghan is the most guarded, while at the other end of the spectrum is Princess Diana, described as more or less an open book, and Kate falls somewhere in between.

“On a spectrum, we have Meghan at one end with the strong reserve and need to control her image (not in a negative way),” Lowe noted. “Kate more-or-less in the middle is more willing to be spontaneous.”

On the other hand, Princess Diana's relaxed writing indicates that she’s not guarded at all. “Diana, at the other end, with her relaxed, curvy handwriting is far more willing to wear her heart on her sleeve,” the expert explained.

On Meghan’s handwriting, the expert detected a very sophisticated personality who wants to be in control over how she is perceived by others. “Meghan’s beautiful writing has many flourishes that on one hand draw attention to her, but on the other, there is a formality that also keeps a distance,” Lowe said. “What this tells us is, Meghan wants to project an image of beauty, perfection and uniqueness, which serves to hide some insecurity.”

“The degree of control seen in this handwriting reveals a woman of strong emotion who works to hold back the tide and only show what she wants others to see,” the forensic handwriting examiner noted. “She is comfortable in the spotlight because she has control over her image.”

Meanwhile, the expert said that Kate’s handwriting shows a personality that desires harmony. “Kate’s handwriting couldn’t be more opposite from Meghan’s,” Lowe said. “Not that it’s ‘better’ or ‘worse,’ just reflects a very different personality from her sister-in-law. Kate’s writing is flexible, forward-leaning, simplified, original, which indicates her strong need for a conflict-free environment and desire to create harmony wherever she is.”

As for Princess Diana, her handwriting suggests that while she may compromise for the sake of harmony, she yearned freedom the most. “Ah, Diana. Her handwriting is so recognizable,” Lowe explained.

“The large, round, openness of it reveals a woman who needed love, affection, attention and approval in a very big way. Her rounded, soft writing has few angles and shows that, like Kate, an abiding need for harmony prompted her to do her best to create a serene backdrop for her life. The horizontally expanded writing indicates that freedom was a powerful imperative for her,” she added.
