Kate Middleton is a mom, but she’s not an ordinary one because she’s the wife of the future king of England. It’s not easy to be a good mom, and being part of the royal family makes parenting even harder as there are tons of duties to fulfill for the country while also raising kids at home.
Prince William’s wife has been in the spotlight in the last few weeks as she has been attending various events as part of her work as the Duchess of Cambridge. She has a number of public engagements scheduled for the year, and she juggles these tasks with her responsibilities as a mother to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Definitely when Kate takes off her tiara as the Duchess of Cambridge, she’s back home to enjoy her motherhood and spends time with her kids as much as she can. Here are some of the times when Prince William’s wife showed what she’s like as a mother.
She Personally Brings Her Kids To School
Kate is a hands-on mom that, in between her charity works and other royal duties, she takes Prince George to school whenever she can. In fact, just a day after she gave birth to Prince Louis, she was reported to have dropped her eldest son off at school.
She Comforts Her Kids When They’re Panicking Or Throwing Tantrums
The duchess has to deal with her kids’ tantrums as well, and she’s doing a great job at it. In 2017, Prince William and Kate brought their two children along on a royal tour in Germany and Poland, and the family’s final schedule was a visit at the Airbus base, where Princess Charlotte threw a tantrum. The little princess cried and then tumbled on the tarmac, but Kate calmed her daughter down by gracefully picking her up and comforting her.
In 2016, Prince George panicked when they visited the Royal Air Force in Fairford. Kate’s son couldn’t stand the roar of the aircraft and looked upset, so she picked him up right away to assure him it’s alright.
She Spends Quality And Fun Time With Her Kids
Kate appeared in public with all of her three children when they went to cheer Prince William at a polo match last month. The children were spotted playing around the field as their mom watched them closely.
The duchess was also seen carrying Prince Louis around while showing him the ponies. Overall, she was being playful with her kids and exchanged funny faces with them as they all watch their dad in the field. Kate is obviously close to her kids, and she always pays attention to them, just like any other ordinary mother.
“Instead of paying attention to the cameras or reporters, Kate is communicating to her children that this moment is about their family more than anything,” body language expert Patti Wood told Town and Country. “It's a way of creating a special memory despite the pomp and circumstance.”
