Republican Kari Lake's chances of winning the Arizona Senate elections continue to look slim as the final month of campaigning begins. All polls conducted during September show her opponent, Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego, leading the contest, many with solid, even two-digit gaps.

The latest one, however, features smaller margins: conducted by AtlasIntel among 946 likely voters, it showed Gallego ahead by four percentage points, garnering 50% of the support compared to Lake's 46%.

It is a large departure from the previous survey, where Gallego led comfortably by a two-digit margin. The Beacon Research/Shaw & Company Research and Fox News poll, which consulted over 1,000 registered voters, concluded that the Democrat held 56% of the support compared to Lake's 42%.

Another study by the same entities among 764 likely voters had a similar result: Gallego got 55% of the potential votes, while lake took 42%.

"Gallego is preferred across most demographic groups, but women voters are a big part of what gives him the advantage as they back him over Lake by a 23-point margin. He also receives the support of 6 in 10 independents and nearly 2 in 10 Republicans," the survey's analysis detailed.

Moreover, about 15% of respondents who backed Gallego said they will split the ticket and vote for Donald Trump, Another show of Gallego's cross-party appeal. The scenario is larger among independents: they are 16 points more likely to back Gallego than Harris.

It is unclear whether the survey is indicative of a shift in the trend as the different polls have shown oscillating results throughout the past months. However, regardless of the difference, all of them show the Democrat on the lead.

Perhaps one of the last chances Lake will have to make a significant gain will take place next week, when the candidates engage in a debate. The event will take place on October 9 and will be organized by the Arizona Clean Elections Commission.

As the race continues, Gallego has gotten significant backing as he seeks to maintain the lead. Concretely, the PAC affiliated with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, CHC BOLD PAC, is investing $1.1 million in ads targeting Latinas across the state. Titled "Las Jefas" (The bosses). It is the biggest spend in the group's history, according to NBC News.

Gallego has also been endorsed by the the state's police association, another potential boost. The APA, described as the "largest police/public safety association i the state, representing thousands of active law enforcement officers, said Gallego "has continually fought for robust, increased funding for America's Law Enforcement."
