Kansas Man Arrested Over Murder Of His Two Sons, Abduction Of Daughters

A man from Kansas was arrested on Saturday after being accused of killing his two sons and abducting his two daughters. The police found him almost 500 miles from his home with his two daughters after being spotted by a truck driver across state lines in Oklahoma with two girls.

Authorities said the truck driver suspected Donny Jackson after hearing an Amber Alert over the disappearance of two girls. He spotted Jackson and two girls aboard a Honda Accord in Oklahoma when he received the alert.

The police arrived at the scene and found Jackson with the two missing girls, 3-year-old Aven and 7-year-old Nora. The Kansas dad was allegedly armed when the police arrived. He pulled over by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers to surrender at around 7 p.m.

In a Facebook post, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the two girls had been safely rescued following the abduction.

Authorities also revealed that six hours before the rescue operation, a relative of Donny Jackson had alerted the police after finding the girls’ brothers dead at their family home in Leavenworth. The relative said she visited their home to check up on why one of Jackson’s children had failed to show up for a soccer game earlier that day.

Major James Sherley of the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the dad was the suspected murderer of his 11-year-old and 14-year-old sons. However, the police did not detail how the boys had been killed or how long their bodies had been at the gruesome scene before they were found.

The police also revealed that before the bodies were found, authorities had stopped Jackson for a routine traffic violation somewhere in Kansas. However, the officers allowed him to carry on with his two daughters, whose disappearances had yet to be reported.

Authorities said the sheriff’s office previously had dealings with Donny Jackson, saying “there had been some back and forth with family” and that investigators were “trying to determine what went on with the family dynamic that got us to this point.”

Meanwhile, the police discovered that Jackson was in the middle of divorce proceedings with his estranged wife Tara when the incident happened. Tara is the mother of his four children.
