Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has moved to privately resolve a sexual assault defamation lawsuit, where he dragged his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez as his alibi, claiming he was with her during the reported incident in March 2014.
The "Peaches" singer, 27, has filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit against two women who made sexual assault allegations against him. In court filings from Nov. 3, Judge Terry Green agreed with both parties that the lawsuit could be worked out in private mediation, according to the Daily Mail.
Justin is being accused by a woman, only identified in court documents as Danielle, of sexual assault at a Four Seasons Hotel in Texas in March 2014 following an event at the SXSW festival.
Originally, the singer sued Danielle for $10 million in damages after she made the allegations through Twitter behind the usernames @danielleglvn, Vanity Fair reported. Denying the claims, JB said he had "indisputable documentary evidence" to prove these were "fabricated lies."
According to the paperwork, Bieber was indeed in the city on that alleged date of the assault. However, he would contend he was not staying at the said hotel as he was with then-girlfriend Gomez, 29, at the time of the reported incident.
According to the "Stay" hitmaker, Danielle possibly made up her allegations based on reports he ate at the Four Seasons Restaurant on March 10, 2014. The woman has since deleted her Twitter account after Bieber successfully subpoenaed Twitter to identify her following her damaging tweets.
Meanwhile, as for his other accuser named Khadidja, Bieber believes she is a superfan who stalks him to the hotels he visited, hoping to meet him. He said they've never met amid her claims Bieber assaulted her at the Langham Hotel in New York on May 5, 2015, after the Met Gala.
Justin is also arguing that what he attended at the Langham Hotel was a private after-party, where he reportedly stayed until 4 a.m., RadarOnline noted.
However, Khadidja's attorney would fight back, citing the first and fourteenth amendments as protection to her accusations, which were also made on social media under the username @ItsnotKadi.
