Justin Bieber caused a world-wide heart attack on social media last Friday, when he posted a photo of himself with a script for “Batman Vs. Superman,” written by David S. Goyer and Zack Snyder. The cover page features a "Bieber" watermark, as if the script were meant specifically for him. Bat-fans, who are already furious at the notion of Ben Affleck as their beloved Dark Knight, couldn’t “beliebe” they were going to go through another disappointment in the franchise, after the Biebs suggested he might play sidekick Robin in the upcoming film.

A few Bieber fans wished the 19-year-old crooner the best. But the sentiment was overwhelmingly against the idea of Bieber as the Boy Wonder, at least online. “God, please let it be a hoax!” one user tweeted, offering what was a recurring theme. “Hopefully he’s kidding,” another one said. Another user took the opportunity to explain how bad this casting choice was. “The only things that can defeat Superman are kryptonite, magic, and putting Ben Affleck and Justin Bieber in his movie.”

Whether or not this is a hoax or the actual script is unclear. Fans should note, however, that hours before the Instagram post, Bieber tweeted that he was perhaps doing something for Funny or Die. "Off to do something funny or...die :)" the singer tweeted. Bieber was snapped arriving at the studio in Hollywood to film an unspecified skit with close pals Lil Za and Lil Twist on Friday. So we would stand by for a video spoofing the outrage over Affleck's casting as the Dark Night in a not-too-distant future.
