Julia Roberts and her husband, Danny Moder, are once again the highlight of gossip with sources claiming that the two are having marital problems. The “Pretty Woman” actress has been married to the American cinematographer for more than 17 years, but their relationship has repeatedly been questioned by gossipmongers.
A recent report once again brought Moder and Roberts’ alleged marriage troubles up, hinting at a third party breaking the harmony of their relationship. According popular Australian weekly magazine NW, the “Notting Hill” lead actress is leaning on her ex-boyfriend American film actor Jason Patric.
The article’s source claimed that Roberts, after almost 30 years since their brief fling in the nineties, has been secretly communicating with the “Lost Boys” actor. “Julia and Jason reach out to each other to check in. Interestingly it seems to be whenever Julia is unhappy in her life or relationship,” said NW’s source.
Patric and Roberts share a very unique bond that started in a very “Runaway Bride” manner. She flew off with Patric to Ireland a few days before her wedding and left her then fiancé, “24” actor Kiefer Sutherland.
The actress’ growing relationship with her ex is allegedly a serious concern for Moder as they “share a bond dating back to the shock series of events in the '90s.” And history may just repeat itself.
“Danny is jealous of the connection they’ve kept alive all these years — and the fact that Jason is pretty much a stranger to him is unnerving,” alleged the article’s insider. “Julia’s never introduced them and that sets alarm bells ringing with Danny. He wishes Jason would be a man and step up and say, ‘This isn’t cool,’ to Julia — but Jason probably wouldn’t dare undermine her either.”
However, popular celebrity news fact-checking website Gossip Cop has reason to believe that NW’s narrative is totally false. There’s absolutely no sign or inclination that Roberts and Patric have remained in close contact throughout the years or have enough contact as to become a problem for Moder.
To definitively shot down the rumors, Gossip Cop approached Patric’s spokesperson, who said that the article is “completely inaccurate as well as offensive to Jason Patric and to the relationship of Julia Roberts and Danny Moder.” “We categorically deny this absurd and offensive story,” the spokesperson concluded.
