The famed television magistrate, Judge Judith Sheindlin is being sued by the ex-wife of her show's producer. Patric Jones alleges that Sheindlin purchased over half a million dollars' worth of fine Christofle Mary Bone china for barely 10 percent of its value.
Normally, this may just be seen as a (very lucrative) exchange among friends or co-workers. However, since Jones has separated from her husband, "Judge Judy" producer Randall Douthit said that he and Sheindlin conspired against her in making the deal. She accused the two of lowering the total value of the former couple's community property preceding an impending court settlement.
Jones also finds the acts additionally egregious, as Sheindlin should know that no sale of the sort would ever be considered legal in court -- including her own family court. In her trademark aggressive style, Sheindlin quipped of Jones: "I don't owe this lady a cent. If this 50-year-old woman would spend her time more productively at trying to find a job, instead of abusing the judicial system with frivolous lawsuits, we would all be a lot better off."
