Back in mid-April, Juan Gabriel was hospitalized in Las Vegas with pneumonia. He had to postpone his tour in order to fully recover. The “Divo de Juárez” was released, but soon readmitted on the same day, fueling even more rumors about his health. Some even began claiming the singer had cancer, which was denied by Juan Gabriel’s publicist later. After three weeks of being in the hospital, the singer was able to fully recover from his condition and has been back on track ever since.
However, new speculation on his condition has been worrying his fans. According to multiple publications, Mexican magazine TVyNovelas spoke to Juan Gabriel’s physiatrist, Daniel Aquino, revealed that the singer has told him he doesn’t want to live anymore. “Yes, I’ve found him to be a little depressed from time to time, and he has told me that he doesn’t want to keep living, that what he had to do, he already did,” Aquino allegedly said. “What I can tell you for sure is that Juan Gabriel already planned his funeral.”
The doctor added that the singer wants to be cremated and the American company Eternal Reefs will be the one handling the singer’s last wishes. “They scatter the ashes across the sea. It’s something new that is becoming popular in the US and Mexico.” Aquino also said that the singer wants his ashes to be scattered in Cancún and Acapulco. According to the doctor, Juan Gabriel is also defining the details of his will, since he doesn’t want his family fighting over his assets. We can only hope that we have Juan Gabriel for long and that the allegations that the singer doesn’t want to live anymore are false.
