Mexican singer-songwriter Josh Favela has a successful career and songs that resonate with fans in his country, Latin America, and the U.S. Hispanic community. However, he is very aware of how the music industry evolves daily and the ever-changing ways Latin music artists and composers must develop to reach their fans and expand their audience.
With that in mind, Favela accepted the offer to become part of the Mexican edition of Netflix's successful franchise, "Love is Blind." You have to adapt and try new things," he said in an interview with The Latin Times. The challenge is to stay true to who you are as an artist, to maintain your essence intact."

Maintaining his essence means staying focused on music. Favela laughs when asked if he would go to that show or any reality TV program to find love or expand his audience. "No, I don't think I would do well at all," he says. His participation is through his art. Favela's latest release, "Cosas Mágicas," is the theme song for "Love Is Blind México," which premiered on August 1.
He drew inspiration from watching other editions of "Love Is Blind" in countries like the United States, Switzerland, Japan, and Brazil." I watched the dynamics of the series and liked that it's a show about beautiful things, about love. I think Mexico is in for something unique. The audience will enjoy it a lot," he added. "I had a lot of fun finding the inspiration for the song."
Although he admits that he feels more comfortable writing and composing about heartache, "I am very proud of 'Cosas Mágicas.' It's a love song from the point of view of somebody close to the idea of falling in love again until a magical person comes into your life to change your course and way of thinking."
"Being part of the Netflix family and providing the music for the Mexican version is beautiful for me," he added.
The song is Favela's first foray into country music, a new trend in Latin music and regional mexicano. "Cosas Mágicas" is a country ballad featuring the distinctive tuba of regional Mexican music, complemented by the freshness of lap steel and a very romantic melody.
Joss Favela and more Compas
Favela recently released a new EP titled "Mis Compas Vol. 1," on which he collaborates with artists like Yuridia and Banda MS. This project showcases his versatility and willingness to experiment with different musical styles.
"It's an album where I wanted to gather my friends and decided to go to their styles, not the other way around. It was better to present the songs and sing in their worlds," he concluded. He loves all the songs but has a particular part in his heart for his collab with Yuridia and the music video of their song "Pensando Positivo."
Joss Favela said he is preparing a "Mis Compas Vol.2.": "The songs are ready, but we are giving the last touches. The new group of companies is amazing. I am very excited."
