There is no doubt that the death of baseball star Jose Fernandez has broken the hearts of many across the country. As new details emerge from his death, things get more emotional with new video surfacing of the baseball star’s last moments with his pregnant girlfriend.
In newly surfaced footage, Fernandez and Maria Arias are seen sharing an intimate moment at home, where the late baseball star is seen rubbing her belly and professing his love for Arias and their unborn child.
"Yeah, I'm in love, man. I love this thing and I love this thing," he says, as he kisses Arias on the cheek and rubs her baby bump. "I'm in love, man. It's hard to admit it. Tell me about it."
Just before Fernandez’s untimely death, the 24-year-old announced that his girlfriend Arias was pregnant. The news circulated just three days before his death which shocked everyone who though that his former fiancée Carlos Mendoza was pregnant. Mendoza quickly shot down the rumors once everyone found is go about Fernandez’s death.
In an adorable Instagram post, Fernandez took to Instagram to share a picture of Arias on the beach holding her growing belly. “ I’m so glad you came into my life. I’m ready for where this journey is gonna take us together.#familyfirst
A few weeks before sharing the news, the happy couple shared an intimate moment with close family and friends where they revealed the gender of their baby.
Arias is reportedly expecting to welcome the couple’s first child in February 2017.
Fernandez who died in a boating accident along with two friends was laid to rest on September 28 in Miami. While investigators have conducted a toxicology report, the results have not been released, as the investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
