Fans were offered a glimpse into what could be expected from “A Quiet Place Part II” on Instagram on Wednesday. The 30-second teaser features a reprise of the cast from the popular 2018 surprise horror. Emily Blunt is back as Evelyn Abbott, and so are Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe as her children Regan and Marcus respectively.

“Most sequels are about a villain returning or a hero returning, and you have to build this entire world around just the idea that I have a hero or a villain,” said John Krasinski, the director, addressing speculations surrounding the sequel’s plot; Krasinski added, “'[With A Quiet Place Part II], we have the world.”

The brief video shows Evelyn leading her children along a path through the woods. The clip, which is void of words, ends with Evelyn taking her first step off the end of a sandy path and stepping onto the dried leaves covering the ground. The Office star dropped the teaser with a caption, “#PartII”.

The first film was set against the backdrop of the post-apocalyptic world in which the few remaining humans are at the risk of being hunted down by creatures with a highly-developed sense of hearing. But, whether everyone will have to survive like this is a question that remains to be answered. The film will co-star Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.

The official synopsis for A Quiet Place Part II reads, 'Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence.' 'Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.'

The first movie, which met with a stupendous success, raked in over $340 million at the US Box Office alone. “A Quiet Place” is Krasinski’s third movie which was made around a $17 million budget. The first full-length trailer for the film is expected to drop on New Year's Day, 2020, and is set for a release on March 20, 2020.
