Resurfaced clips of Joe Rogan relaying a chilling and accurate prediction about the Los Angeles wildfires burning "all the way to the ocean" have gone viral online.
In July 2024, six months before wildfires began raging through Los Angeles, Rogan shared a firefighter's grim warning on his popular podcast, detailing how a combination of high winds, dry conditions, and an uncontrollable blaze could devastate Los Angeles.
"I talked to a fireman once—this is one of the reasons it freaked me out—and he was telling me, he goes, 'Dude, one day... it's just going to be the right wind and fire is going to start in the right place, and it's going to burn through L.A. all the way to the ocean, and it's not a f****** thing we can do about it.' I go, 'Really?' He goes, 'Yeah, we just get lucky.... We get lucky with the wind... But if the wind hits the wrong way, it's just going to burn straight through L.A., and there's not going to be a thing we could do about it," Rogan said on his podcast.
This prediction, dismissed at the time as hypothetical, has now seemingly been validated by the status current wildfires, which erupted earlier this week, and have since consumed 42 square miles, including homes and businesses.
Multiple wildfires, including the Palisades Fire and others in Hollywood Hills and Altadena, have wreaked havoc across Los Angeles County.
High winds have fueled the blazes, which have forced over 130,000 residents to evacuate, leaving five dead, and destroying nearly 2,000 structures, leaving thousands of residents scrambling for safety.
Firefighters are continuing their efforts to contain the blazes, but with strong winds and dry conditions persisting, officials warn that the fires could cause further destruction.
