Before Monday's proceedings were cut short by adjournment, convicted murderer Jodi Arias was scheduled to likely take the stand as the jury in the case pondered whether to issue a verdict of life in prison or administration of the death penalty.

Jodi Arias has caused havoc to the litigation of her sentencing in recent days, after her chief lawyer, Kirk Nurmi, found it to be a 'conflict of interest' that Arias had reportedly told a courtroom journalist that she would rather die than live out her life behind bars. The exchange between Jodi Arias and the reporter allegedly occurred following her conviction in the 2008 killing of Travis Alexander.

Arias was convicted of murdering her ex-boyfriend, Alexander, who was found with his throat slit and at least 30 stab wounds plus a gunshot wound to the head.

While Nurmi and his legal partner in the case, Jennifer Willmott, continue to represent Arias at this point, they reportedly declared that Arias would likely be the only witness to testify for the defense.

Watch Arias take the stand in the live stream below, as the trial is scheduled to resume sometime Tuesday.
