Author of the insanely popular "Harry Potter" novels and films recently penned an inspiring letter as Dumbledore to a 15-year-old shooting victim in Texas.

Last month, 15-year-old Cassidy Stay lost her parents and four siblings to a gunman. Stay was also shot in the head but survived by playing dead.

Buzzfeed reports days later, Stay quoted Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore at her family's memorial service. She used a quote from Rowling's "The Prisoner of Azkaban" saying, "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one remembers to turn on the light.”

Afterwards Stay's story hit the internet and quickly became viral. A Facebook page titled "We Want J.K. Rowling To Meet Cassidy Stay" was launched which got over 5,000 followers. Although Rowling and Stay have not met the "Harry Potter" author did acknowledge her story.

The Houston Chronicle reported that Rowling penned a letter to her in purple ink, along with a wand and a signed copy of “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."

The contents of the letter remain private, but a representative for Rowling confirmed the two have connected. The Facebook campaign is happy Rowling reached out but still has hope that Rowling and Stay will meet saying, "I'm so excited and ecstatic that we were all able to make a difference! How wonderful. However, I still really want J.K. Rowling to actually meet her. We might just have to keep this page going until that actually happens."
