Actress Jessica Alba attended the 30th Anniversary Impact Awards Gala for the “Independent School Alliance for Minority Affairs,” which is an organization that promotes diversity in schools and promotes multicultural education. Alba explained to reporters the event was very important to her since she believes in the mission of the Alliance, as well as equal opportunity. “They give kids from underserved communities access to the best schools in Los Angeles,” the actress and entrepreneur explained to reporters at the event’s red carpet. “Education is a huge piece of what the Honest Company is all about: empowering people with knowledge, so they can make better choices,” she concluded.
Alba was at the event to present Brian Lee, the co-founder and CEO of her company, The Honest Co., with the “Visionary Award”. Her company, listed on Forbes' hottest startups of 2014, sells non-toxic, eco-friendly products for babies and households; in fact, the Wall Street Journal recently valued it at $1 billion. The “Sin City” star was a keynote speaker at this year’s SXSW where she spoke about her starting her own company and why she believed in it. “We give people access to safer and healthier options to live a better life,” said the actress.
New mom, Blake Lively recently praised Jessica Alba for making “even poop look good” with her Honest Company products, which are not only safer and healthier, but are super cute too!
