Sunday was the first Mother's Day for Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles. She celebrated the holiday with another big first - she debuted her son Magnus Hamilton Miller, born Dec. 6, 2012.
Nettles and her husband, entrepreneur Justin Miller, welcomed Magnus on Dec. 6, 2012. This is the first photo she has shared with fans via Twitter.
"I'm so excited!" she told People magazine about motherhood. "He's super, super sweet. We made a deal before he was born. I said, 'Look, you can cook as long as you want, as long as you come out and latch like it's your job and have a sweet demeanor.' He kept his part of the bargain!"
Nettles also discussed life after baby in a Sunday blog post. She admitted that Magnus is really the "boss" of things now and the entire rhythm of her life has changed because of him. And although she read tons before giving birth, the 38-year-old admits parenting "is not one size fits all." Some things work and some don't.
"You can read every book and website (I've read them all), and listen to the well-meaning advice of family and friends, on how to get your baby to, for example, sleep more or through the night," she wrote. "But guess what? This stuff is not one size fits all. Anyone who tells you it is, lies. The best advice I've gotten was, of course, from my mother who told me to remind myself 'this works SOMETIMES!' And don't get me started on sleep deprivation."
"Becoming a mom is exciting -- and terrifying!" she told Us Weekly before welcoming her son. "At least I'll soon be off the road, decorating the nursery and nesting. Yahoo!"
Nettles is on baby leave and Sugarland, the multi-platinum duo made up of the new mom and Kristian Bush, is currently on indefinite hold, The Hollywood Reporter notes.
