Jennifer Love Hewitt To Be 'X-Factor' Judge? 34-Year-Old Actress May Join Simon Cowl And Demi Lovato

There is a report out of US Weekly that Simon Cowell is eying actress Jennifer Love Hewitt as a replacement for Britney Spears on his "X-Factor" panel, alongside Cowell himself and singer Demi Lovato.

"Simon is very interested," says the source, who also names Reba McEntire and Kelly Rowland as being in the running.

Hewitt has been out of the music scene for quite some time -- the 34-year-old actress hit the charts in 2002 with her single "BareNaked" -- but Cowell, 53, has two positions up for grabs on the judging panel and is believed to be chatting to several celebrities about the roles, including Hewitt.

Hewitt is believed to be one of the favorites along with Kelly Rowland, who judged one series of the UK version of "The X Factor".

"Simon has always remained a fan of Kelly's and she's most definitely in the mix to join the judging panel on X Factor USA." said a source previously.

A representative for the "X-Factor" stated that the Jennifer Love Hewitt rumors are "pure speculation" and wouldn't confirm or deny the reports.

The "Client List" actress has released four albums in her career, but turned her back on music in 2004. However, this year she recorded a cover of "I'm a Woman" to promote the second season of her Lifetime television show.

Mario Lopez will be returning as a presenter on X-Factor, but Khloe Kardashian has not had her contract renewed.

Producers said in a statement: "Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host The X Factor. We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in the future."
