Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez opened up about filming "Selena" and said the cast and crew remain a big family. It seems like she didn't hear Edward James Olmos' comments on her not being Latina enough, or maybe she took the high road and let them go! Reuters

About two weeks ago, Edward James Olmos was doing an interview with Telemundo’s “Suelta La Sopa.” Olmos spoke about his pride at being Hispanic, but called out other Latino artists that haven’t necessarily dedicated themselves to their culture. "Being Latino -- I love it," Olmos said in Spanish. "I love being Latino. It's a love that I have that comes from a deep sense of pride." However, the actor went on to say that celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and even Andy Garcia, have left their origins behind because they don’t like the “limitations” of being a Latino in Hollywood. “They only want to be artists,” Olmos said.

Talking specifically about Jennifer Lopez, the actor mentioned “She has done a lot of things, but she has not dedicated herself to her culture, and that is the most important thing to me.” JLo, nonetheless, has got nothing but love for her former costar. They both starred together in the movie that made Jennifer Lopez a household name back in 1997, Selena. Lopez played the lead role in telling the story of the life of Tejano music superstar, Selena Quintanilla, while Olmos played her father, Abraham Quintanilla, Jr.

Although Olmos basically criticized Lopez for not being Latina enough, she recently sat down with Billboard and she stressed that the Selena team is still a big family. She was asked about the movie being her break-out role, to which she replied, "Oh yeah! 'Selena' was my first star role, it was the first time a Latina got a $1 million dollars for a role which was a huge deal; It was a win for us. I sunk my teeth into it. I was so obsessed with learning everything about her, every little nuance. I wanted to know who she was. It was such a great role but it was also such a great team: Greg Nava, all the actors, especially James Olmos. We became a family, till this day."
