We’re only four days in and it already looks like it’s going to be another huge year for Jennifer Lopez. The singer and actress is planning to return as a judge to “American Idol’s” 15th season, as well as starring and executive producing on the new NBC show “Shades of Blue,” performing 20 concerts as part of her “All I Have” Las Vegas residency; all of this while being a mom to her 7-year-old twins, Max and Emme. To top things off, Lopez is gracing the cover of InStyle magazine’s February issue looking her usual, stunning self.
When talking about how motherhood changed her and how she works together as a team with her kids, Lopez said, “Becoming a mom makes you stronger but also more gentle, especially with yourself—and that changes everything.” She also explained her little ones know how much she needs to sleep. “They know part of their job is helping me get sleep. If I'm sleeping in, they're very quiet, like, ‘Mommy needs to sleep! She worked late last night!’”
As for her residency in Las Vegas, Lopez says she’s planning to make it her show, with her vision. “Compared with an arena, Vegas is very intimate. I see this show as a chance for people to spend an evening with me and really get to know me,” she explained. Lopez also commented on her “Shades of Blue” character, detective Harlee Santos: “She's human. Most people think they're the good guy. We're trying to do the best we can, but we all do bad things sometimes.”
In terms of her love life Lopez says marriage is nowhere in the horizon for her right now, as she’s learning to be happy by herself. “I need to be happy on my own,” she said. “If someone fits into that, great. But if they don’t, that’s OK too.”
