Move over, Kim Kardashian, a wedding in Russia last weekend was as lavish as its rumored $1 billion dollar price tag. Billionaire and founder of founding the oil company Russneft, Mijaíl Gutseríev’s son, Said Gutseriev, 28, got married to 20-year-old student Khadija Uzhakhovs, who wore an £18,000 (approximately $25,000) designer wedding dress, which was reportedly brought in from Paris and weighed 25lb because of the massive train and beadwork.
But let’s talk wedding bands, music is an extremely important part of a wedding if you want guests to have the night of their lives, so Gutseriev hired Sting, Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez to entertain. However, TMZ did report that participation from the attendants was very timid, perhaps due to a language barrier or etiquette reasons. Before performing a few of her Vegas show songs, JLo had to introduce the bride and groom, pronouncing their names to perfection, which the singer said “was the hardest thing” she had to do that day. Now, you know that’s a tough gig if the Bronx diva got that nervous, right?
ContactMusic said Lopez made at least three costume changes during her performance, which included some of biggest hits like “Get Right,” “On the Floor” and “Dance Again.” While reports say guests may not have participated that much in cheering, singing and dancing, pictures of the wedding décor, the flowers, the cake and the performers flooded Instagram! Of course, fireworks and a nine-tiered cake ensued before the majestic performances. Rumors also said Sir Elton John had performed at the lavish event, but since we saw everything else on social media, we’re guessing that would have come up too.
Check out these videos showing the singers give it their all, the jaw-dropping décor and then prepare to weep for the unrealistic goals this wedding just set all around the world.
