What many had been waiting for is finally becoming a reality. After making headlines for her split from Ben Affleck and the success of the drama Unstoppable, superstar Jennifer Lopez is returning to romantic comedy with 'Office Romance,' a Netflix project set to begin filming in March 2025, according to Deadline.

The much-anticipated comeback of 'The Diva from the Bronx' will be helmed by renowned director Ol Parker, known for 'Imagine Me & You' and 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.' The film will be produced by Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett of Ryder Picture Company, Goldstein and Joe Kelly, as well as Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina of Nuyorican Films, along with Courtney Baxter.

Fans of the genre are thrilled to see the queen of rom-coms return to her roots. Since her role in 'Marry Me', alongside Maluma, audiences have been eager to see her in a similar story—and their wish has been granted!

Although the project does not yet have an official synopsis, the title suggests that Lopez will play an office worker who finds her soulmate in the most unexpected place.

In this Netflix venture, JLo will star alongside Brett Goldstein, an actor who has made a significant mark in the industry since 2010. Goldstein is best known for his role as Roy Kent in 'Ted Lasso,' a performance that earned him his first Primetime Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy in 2023. Now, he teams up with the queen of romantic comedies for what promises to be an exciting collaboration.

While the release date for 'Office Romance' has not been announced, filming in March 2025 hints at a possible premiere in July.

The Queen of Romantic Comedies

Unlike Goldstein, Lopez is no stranger to the world of romantic comedies. Her illustrious career includes beloved films like 'Selena,' 'Maid in Manhattan,' 'Shall We Dance?', and 'Monster-in-Law.'

Two years ago, Lopez wowed audiences as pop star Kat Valdez in 'Marry Me,' where her character discovered her fiancé (played by Maluma) was cheating just before their wedding. In a bold move, she decides to marry a fan from the audience instead.
