Twenty-nineteen has been a golden year for Jennifer Lopez. The 50-year-old singer who seemed to be riding high, all thanks to the lucky streak, has landed another exciting project her kitty— as the (gorgeous) new face of the luxury brand, Coach.
The Puerto Rican superstar garnered mammoth Instagram envy when the video of 50th birthday celebrations surfaced. The energy she exudes was a vibe in itself. And now, the leather goods brand is just stoked to have the diva onboard. “Jennifer is so authentic,” said Stuart Vevers, Coach’s creative director to People. “She’s an original who has followed her own path to do things her own way,” Vevers added. The New York connect between Lopez and the brand made her the best fit, believes the brand’s senior management. Insiders divulge that Lopez was pictured taking photos for the spring 2020 campaign atop the Empire State Building.
But, aside from the big innings in her career, the “All I Have” singer recently made fans gush over an adorable Instagram video, which features her and Alex Rodriguez working out. Just then, A. Rod cutely and not-so-subtly proposes to her again by sidling over suavely to J. Lo, with a cup that reads on it "Marry me?" J. Lo giggled, then, said "yes."
On the work front, on Thursday, the actress and singer bagged a Film Independent Spirit Awards nomination. The awards show is slated to happen on Feb. 8, a day prior to its airing on television. Needless to say, Lopez’s Oscar hopes also seem to be looking bright. She was nominated for the best supporting female award for Hustlers, in which she essays the character of a leader of a group of strippers who scam exorbitant amounts out of wealthy men.
While this year has undoubtedly been a good one for Lopez — with her engagement, 50th birthday, the surprise Versace catwalk and Hustlers; J.Lo has some incredibly great events to look forward to, in 2020 as well— Jennifer Lopez will be performing at the Super Bowl with fellow Latina artist Shakira.
“I feel like it’s an amazing platform and one of the biggest in the world to put out whatever message you want to put out there,” said Jennifer Lopez to GQ, implying that there’s more exciting stuff in the pipeline, in regards to the performance.
