Jennifer Lopez, a New York City girl turned music superstar, says she worked hard to reach the level of stardom and influence she has today. Her work has clearly paid off and is continuing to do so in more ways than one. Her most recent accomplishment will share that story of dedication with the world. The singer, 43, is getting a TV documentary about her life titled "Jennifer Lopez: Her Life. Her Story," reported VOXXI.

"Do I belong here? I'm just like this girl from the Bronx who grew up on Castle Hill. I can do and I can be whatever I want to be. I've worked as hard as I could to be as good as I could," Lopez said in a sneak preview for the documentary.

The program gets up close and personal with Lopez, chronicling her successes and featuring interviews from top music executives Tommy Mottola and Benny Medina, as well as her family. The description of the film indicates that it will also delve into her business endeavors, which tend to fall to the wayside when people consider her influence. Lopez recently took on the position of chief creative officer at NuvoTV, an English-language Latino television network. She hopes to "change the face of television," she said of her goals as creative officer.

"I want to just have fun creating the shows. What I want is for it to be remembered as a place where we gave a home to artists who didn't have a home before, where Latino artists in front of and behind the story can tell their stories. And at the end of the day, we literally have changed the face of television," Lopez said.

The documentary will be her first show with the network. It will premeire on NuvoTV July 18.
