Is Jennifer Lopez Dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy? Puerto Rican Diva, ‘DWTS’ Former Champ ‘Just Friends’ Despite Rumors

Jennifer Lopez sure likes her dancers. After a whirlwind marriage to Cris Judd and a two-year romance with Casper Smart, JLo has reportedly fallen again for a man who knows his moves. This time around, the diva is allegedly dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the Ukrainian-born hunk who was recently linked with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis, after being partners on “Dancing With The Stars.” Meryl and Maks’ chemistry was undeniable, and it sure helped them win the competition (and their moves were impressive and perfectly executed as well), and although we really wanted them to be a real-life couple, they flat out denied it when Wendy Williams asked them.

So that leaves Maks single. On the other hand, we have JLo single too. But how do these two get together in the first place? It turns out they both met last November when they shared the stage at the 2013 American Music Awards during Jennifer’s tribute to Celia Cruz. The two allegedly hit it off back then, but while JLo was dating Casper at the time, Maks was dating Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton. However, they allegedly kept in touch. To add a little bit more to the mix, Maks is close with fellow DWTS pro, Tony Dovolani. On season 17, he was paired with Leah Remini who happens to be JLo’s bestie.

According to the rumors, JLo attended Maks’ brother’s birthday party back in March, where they were “inseparable,” according to a report by “Life & Style.” “At one point, he put his arm around her waist and they seemed to be locked in a very passionate conversation,” the mag reported. Nevertheless, a source confirmed to US Weekly, that despite the rumors of the alleged relationship, “They are friends.” “He performed with her on the AMA's. But [they're] just friends.” “She doesn't have a second to date anyone right now and it is definitely not romantic with Maksim,” the source added.

And how could they start off a romance just now, when Jennifer is in Brazil kicking off the World Cup celebrations alongside Pitbull and Claudia Leitte; and Maksim is in India as a judge for their version of Dancing With The Stars? Like an insider told E! News, “Who knows what could happen down the road?”
