Jennifer Lopez was driving, with friend Leah Remini and twins Max and Emme in the car, when a drunk driver hit them on September 28, 2014 on PCH in Malibu. They were at a red light when a driver in a small pickup hit them and then drove away. The man was identified as 53-year-old Robert J. Reitz from Las Vegas. JLo and Remini called 911, and the cops chased and arrested Reitz after he attempted to run away.

The drunk driver, who was booked for a misdemeanor after the accident and was released from jail on $15,000 bail, managed to dodge jail time. He pled no contest to misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, and driving at nearly twice the legal blood-alcohol limit. Even though, he is not doing jail time, he does have 3 years probation. Let’s all be glad that no major harm was done, but remember: don’t drink and drive!
