After Fox announced last Monday that “American Idol” will be back only for its 15 and final season next spring, judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. will celebrate the show’s last season alongside host Ryan Seacrest and then move on to their next endeavors. We know JLo will start shooting NBC’s “Shades of Blue” in June, but even more exciting than that, the Bronx native just announced an upcoming residency at the Axis theater at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas starting in January 2016.
After teasing the “HUGE” announcement on her Instagram, the “Booty” star finally shared the big news with a video post she captioned, “So excited!!! This is going to be the show I've always dreamed of creating. #JloVegas.” Lopez said she’s been preparing for this moment her entire life. “The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny from the Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love - Dance, Hip Hop, Latin and Pop. It's going to be the show I've always dreamt of creating.”
It seems like JLo was probably giving Vegas a try with her Caesar’s Palace New Year’s Eve show, and she liked what she saw. “It made me feel more comfortable with the idea of doing something there permanently,” she explained. As for settling down in one place with her 7-year-old twins sounds ideal for Lopez who said, “I'm excited. It's something I've thought about a lot. Just being in one place and not having to tour the world as much.”
