Jennifer Lopez made headlines when Alex Rodriguez proposed to her on a beach in Maldives back in March. As Rodriguez rang in the New Year on New Year’s Eve, he shared on Twitter a video showing his and his fiancée’s brightest moments throughout 2019, offering a first glimpse of his actual proposal to Lopez.

Lopez and Rodriguez make up one of today’s power couples in Hollywood. That is why when news about Rodriguez’s marriage proposal to the Latina superstar made the rounds online earlier this year, it immediately sent their fans into a frenzy. While the couple has never shared photos of their engagement since it happened, Rodriguez shared on Tuesday a never-before-seen footage of him getting down on one knee.

The footage shows Lopez and Rodriguez spending some quality time one night on the beach when Rodriguez suddenly got down on his knee, causing Lopez to cover her mouth in shock. In the footage, Rodriguez is wearing a gray shirt and white pants while Lopez is wearing a white dress and a bun.

Rodriguez revealed in his post how amazing his 2019 had been because of Lopez and his children. “Looking back on these moments, I can’t help but smile from ear to ear,” he wrote. “I am so lucky to be able to spend my life with those I love, doing what I love. What an amazing year it has been! As 2019 winds down, I am feeling so incredibly grateful and blessed,” he added.

The retired baseball professional also shared plenty of clips of his quality family time with his and Lopez’s kids, as well as clips of him gifting his fiancée with a $140,000 red Porsche, smooching Lopez, attending various soirees with her and preparing dinner for their Thanksgiving celebration. One of the clips showed the couple candidly chopping up some vegetables for Thanksgiving.

One of the sweetest clips in the 2019 highlights video showed Rodriguez giving Lopez a special birthday toast as they sat beside Lopez’s son Max. “It’s not the millions of people who see you live, but the billions of people that you touch every day, and you’re only at halftime, baby,” Rodriguez told Lopez. “I love you, you’re my wife, you’re the most beautiful thing in the world and I couldn’t be more proud of you. I love you,” he added before leaning in to kiss her on the lips.
