Hollywood kibitzers can’t get enough of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, even after more than a decade since they filed for divorce. Both wonderful and nasty memories of the marriage kept cropping up as if everyone was still in 2005.
Pinkvilla shared that Kristin Hahn, friend of both Aniston and Pitt, dished what really sealed the breakup for the two megastars. The two were apparently not just a married couple but business partners too. Together with Hahn, they formed the production house Bloc Productions, which eventually became Plan B. Movies made under this banner were “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” “A Mighty Heart” and “The Departed.”
Hahn, who reminisced about it in a recent interview with The New York Times, continued that she and Aniston decided to leave the company after the divorce. On top of that, it was also hard at that time for the production firm to take off because of the sexism and the perception on actors taking on behind-the-scene work.
“It was so much harder to get our phone calls taken,” Hahn revealed. “But when we started, even though Jen had been on a TV series for eight years, it was still a little like, ‘Oh, isn’t that cute,’” she added. As they formed the company in the former couple’s garage, Hahn and Aniston moved out after leaving — which she says is the symbolic equivalent of moving out of the house.
The two female powerhouses went on to form Echo Films. The production company is responsible for some of Aniston’s big screen features, including “The Switch,” the acclaimed “Cake” and last year’s “Dumplin.’” The company is also involved in her upcoming TV series on Apple TV, “The Morning Show,” which she costars with Reese Witherspoon, who is also credited as an executive producer.
“I’m entering into what I feel is one of the most creatively fulfilling periods of my life,” Aniston also shared to The New York Times. “Seriously, I’ve been doing this for 30 years and I feel like it’s just about to really bloom.”
