JD Vance has earned the title of the most unpopular Vice President in U.S. history, according to a new poll.

Vance received a favorable-unfavorable rating of 41.7% to 44.8%, according to RealClearPolitics, indicating that he is less favorable than former Vice President Kamala Harris was about two months after assuming the position.

Vance's net favorability is also marginally worse than Trump's, working out to a -3.1% while Trump sits at -0.9%.

It is unusual for Vice Presidents to lose public goodwill this quickly after the beginning of their terms.

Dick Cheney was able to maintain over 60% favorability for the first two-and-a-half years spent in his role, according to a Gallup poll. Furthermore, Joe Biden began with a 53% favorable and a 29% unfavorable rating, though he fell down to a 42-40 split by the end of October 2009 following the recession, reported Pew Research Center. Though Mike Pence's favorability ratings were split within the 40s at the beginning of his term, he still performed better than Vance is performing now and better than President Trump had been at the time as well.

However, Vance has been performing worse than any other U.S. Vice President has in the beginning of his term. This unpopularity was demonstrated earlier this month, when he received a course of jeers and boos at the Kennedy Center.

Vance's low polling numbers in March follow his berating of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the White House earlier this month. His favorable-unfavorable rating for March rests at 42.4% to 48%.

Last month, Trump admitted that he didn't view Vice President Vance as his successor to the nation's highest office while speaking to Fox News during a pre-Superbowl interview.

"Do you view Vice President JD Vance as your successor, the Republican nominee in 2028?" asked host Bret Baier.

Trump replied, "No, but is he very capable. I mean, I don't think that, you know, I think you have a lot of very capable people. So far, I think he is doing a fantastic job. It's too early. We are just starting."
