Donald Trump's running mate shared harsh criticism of a legendary reporter on Tuesday after his reporting revealed multiple bombshell claims about the former President.

Republican VP candidate J.D. Vance responded to a sneak peak of revered journalist Bob Woodward's new book, which revealed that Donald Trump communicated with Vladimir Putin "multiple" times after leaving office.

Vance referred to the Woodward, who famously exposed the Watergate scandal, as a "hack."

During a rally in Detroit, while responding to a question about the revelation regarding Trump's relationship with Putin, the vice presidential candidate started off by saying he "honestly didn't know Bob Woodward was still alive."

"What little I know about Bob Woodward is that he is, I'm going to use a word here, he is a hack," Vance said. "The guy's a hack."

Woodward's claims about Trump and the Russian president's ongoing personal relationship came to light on Tuesday after CNN revealed excerpts of the journalist's upcoming book, "War."

Vance added that he "has never talked to Trump about his calls with Putin" before appealing to supporters.

"Even if it's true, is there something wrong with speaking to world leaders? Is there something wrong with engaging with diplomacy?" Vance asked rally attendees, to which they answered "no" both times.

The Ohio senator then told attendees the world is "on the verge of World War III" because Kamala Harris has been hiding from the American people and world leaders.

"It's a disgrace and it's a complete failure of a foreign policy," Vance added.
