J Balvin had a very humorous reaction to rumors claiming he was starting a feud with fellow “La Voz Mexico” coach Alejandro Sanz.
On Tuesday, the Colombian singer addressed the controversy on social media, where he posted a hilarious Face Swap video explaining how he felt about the chismes.
“My teacher Alejandro Sanz,” Balvin captioned the clip. “He already gave singing lessons and he loves reggeaton!”
He added, “This was approved by Alejandro so avoid posting gossip. THANK YOU!”
In the clip, the 31-year-old urban star is uses the famous app to impersonate Sanz as he sings “Ginza,” one of his biggest hits.
“Si necesita reggeaton, dale!” he sings before adding, “I have to admit that I am a fan of J Balvin,” with a Spanish accent.
According to several publications, the singers stopped being friendly after Sanz “humiliated” Balvin during the reality show’s blind auditions.
“Apparently all the hair dye has gone through his scalp and affected him a little,” said the 47-year-old Spaniard. “You don’t even sing…you shouldn’t have anyone singing for you.”
Fans of the show have joined the conversation on social media and the outcome seems to be very split.
“Alejandro Sanz can give you a master class,” wrote Johanna Lungavite. “The difference between you and him is that he is a musician, you are a reggeatonero that will be out in a few years…he won’t. He has been in the business for more than 20 years and he is still successful.”
Yadira from Tijuana replied, “If you don’t like the genre or the artist you can limit your critiques, the only thing you are doing here is making a fool of yourself, I say this so I don’t have to call you dumb. J Balvin, you keep giving reggeaton to those who need it.”
