Ivanka Trump plans to attend Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20 in an effort to save her aspiring political career. Despite her father’s dismay at this, sources say Ivanka worries much that her promising political career could be in jeopardy and ruin her reputation.

According to an article in the New Zealand Herald, her decision has caused a major rift with her dad who has publicly stated he would not attend the event. A White House insider said Trump is furious over this saying the family should be put on a united front.

“He said it's an insult that she would even want to engage with the crooks that are trying to bring him down,'' the insider claimed.

“The president told his daughter that her presence at the inauguration will cost her thousands of supporters and would be the worst decision she could ever make”, sources said.

Ivanka is hopeful that attending Biden's inauguration could present her as “being a good sport and will gain future supporters”. The 39-year-old has served as an adviser to her father during his time in office and was understood to have persuaded Trump to call off rioters during the siege.

She also stated that she has to protect her own political aspirations and isn't about to muck it all up by attending her dad's 2024 campaign kick-off which has been set for the same day, the Daily Mail wrote.

While others have questioned if Ivanka has even been invited to the event, there are conflicting reports about her attendance as she has yet to confirm this.

Meanwhile, stronger calls to invoke the 25th Amendment have fallen on Mike Pence to remove Trump from office. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she would move forward with impeaching Trump if Vice President Mike Pence did not invoke the 25th amendment.

As of Monday, House Democrats formally unveiled articles to impeach Trump, charging him with “incitement of insurrection”.

Although Trump has plans to snub the inauguration, he has approved an emergency declaration for Washington that would carry through to January 24. This comes after authorities warned of security threats to the swearing-in ceremony.

The last president not to attend his successor's swearing-in was President Andrew Johnson in 1869 - who had also been impeached. Both John Adams and John Quincy Adams have also snubbed their successors.
