Finn Jones is best known for taking on the role of Danny Rand or “Iron Fist.”
While well-known to Marvel comic book readers, the TV version failed to live up to the hype, a reason why it was canceled after two seasons.
“Iron Fist” was officially canceled on October 12, 2018.
Now roughly four years later, “Iron Fist” discussions are in the air again. No less than Jones gave his take about reprising the role, something tied to Charlie Cox returning as Matt Murdoch on “Daredevil: Born Again.”
Jones spoke on the Geekscape podcast, revealing he would be open to reprising his role and doing justice to playing the character.
"I care about Danny Rand deeply, I believe in that character, I think there's a lot of work to be done. There's something about the underdog, y'know? I love the underdog narrative. I love the ability to prove someone wrong, and I want to prove all those motherfuckers wrong. I know I have it in me and I know I can give the Danny Rand performance that fans want and that is possible," Jones stated.
The first season of “Iron Fist” debuted on March 17, 2017, but the 13-episode season generally received negative reviews although it still managed to get strong viewership.
The second season of “Iron Fist” was comprised of 10 episodes and fared better but still got mixed reviews.
"[With] he first season, there were a lot of creative challenges, and it didn’t live up to the expectations, and I think that came down to…really, it came down to scheduling conflicts," Jones explained. . "That season of television was rushed because we had The Defenders that we had to film straight afterwards."
“Iron Fist” is one of several Marvel-themed shows that were taken off Netflix due to licensing issues with Disney getting the rights. The series was moved to Disney+ on March 16 in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand as well as other markets until the end of 2022.
