Irán Castillo’s private life has been targeted by the media ever since a Mexican publication revealed that the actress had been kidnapped. According to the magazine, Castillo was held hostage for three days somewhere in Mexico City. The “Que Te Perdone Dios” star didn’t make any public declarations about the happenings after the note was published but she used her Twitter account to inform her followers that she was safe and sound.

This week however, Irán decided to break her silence and admitted some details about her kidnapping. In the latest issue of TVyNovelas magazine, the actress confesses that she hasn’t made anything public because she doesn’t want to mislead or confuse the authorities investigating her case. She says she wants to leave everything in the past and just focus on the present.

During the interview, Castillo talks about the media’s way of handling the situation, and she mentions how it has affected her personal life: “Yes (I do feel the media has invaded my privacy), but that’s their job, they have to get pieces out, although there are some that lie because they have to sell.”

She also mentioned that even though the event was hard-hitting and she will forever be marked by it, she has every intention to let it go and move on: “I feel good, and I think that’s all that matters, living in the present and in whatever is happening now. I feel like in this moment I am where I want to be, and things are even opening up to me, things that I didn’t know were there. I think that is very good, and I am motivated, and I plan to do many things.”

Irán also mentioned that her driving force is her daughter Irka, who will be turning four soon, “I am madly in love with her, she is my teacher and I love it that she teaches me so much, it’s impressive. My everyday goal is to be a better mom, she is also my friend, and the most important thing in my life.”
