Will the iPhone 7 arrive later this year? According to a report from Stabley Times, Apple may unleash both the iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 by fall. More specifically, the iPhone 6S could be unveiled as early as the first half of 2015. Meanwhile, the iPhone 7 could arrive in September.
"That would point to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6S both arriving next fall, with the 7 being the more expensive flagship model and the 6S being the mid-range model from day one," reported Stabley Times. Previously, we have also heard rumors that Apple intends to shorten product cycles of their mobile devices.
So what exactly can we expect from the upcoming iPhone 7? According to reports from Tech Radar, the upcoming iPhone 7 is expected to push the envelope of what a camera phone can do. In fact, rumors suggest that the iPhone 7 is capable of DSLR-like captures.
"With its acquisition of Israeli company LinX Computational imaging, Apple creating new gadgets with DSLR camera capabilities could be a highly plausible scenario," reported Tech Radar. " LinX creates tablet and smartphone cameras that use special sensor arrays and algorithms to create high-quality images that match DSLR cameras in smaller packages, according to the company."
Secondly, iDigitalTimes reported that a patent leak suggests that the upcoming iPhone 7 may feature a flexible display. A patent filings from Apple clearly shows that the Cupertino tech giant is working to bring bendible screen with touch-sensitive layers and display covers to a future device.
"The flexible housing may include a configurable support structure that, when engaged, provides a rigid support structure for the flexible housing," the U.S. Patent filing describes. "The flexible internal components may include flexible batteries, flexible printed circuits or other flexible components. A flexible battery may include flexible and rigid portions or may include a lubricious separator layer that provides flexibility for the flexible battery. A flexible printed circuit may include flexible and rigid portions or openings that allow some rigid portions to flex with respect to other rigid portions."
Finally, the last feature we look forward to in the upcoming iPhone 7 is a brand new Apple iOS. According to 9 to 5 mac, Apple will soon launch the iOS 9.
"Following the successful launch of the OS X Public Beta program with OS X Yosemite last year, Apple intends to release the upcoming iOS 8.3 as a public beta via the company's existing AppleSeed program in mid-March, according to the sources. This release will match the third iOS 8.3 beta for developers, which is planned for release the same week. Apple then expects to debut iOS 9 at its June Worldwide Developer Conference, with a public beta release during the summer, and final release in the fall," the site mentioned.
