A report out of MacRumors website is saying that Reuters has reported Apple is looking into larger screens for the next generation iPhone set to hit next year, 2014. It is said the company is testing display sizes of 4.7 and 5.7 inches for the new device. The current iPhone carries a 4-inch display and previous models tote a 3.5-inch display.
This definitely adds fuel to the rumor fire that has been burning about a new bigger display for the next generation iPhone 6. It would definitely be in the company's best interest seeing how they need to compete with the larger phones screens coming from Samsung's Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2 have 5-inch and 5.5-inch screens, respectively. Reuters reports their source said:
"Apple is looking at introducing at least two bigger iPhones next year - one with a 4.7-inch screen and one with a 5.7-inch screen - said the sources, including those in the supply chain in Asia. They said suppliers have been approached with plans for the larger screens, but noted it is still unclear whether Apple will actually launch its flagship product in the larger sizes. They constantly change product specifications almost to the final moment, so you're not really sure whether this is the final prototype," said one person with direct knowledge of the matter."
If you're a skeptic the reports isn't far-fetched, When Apple released the iPhone 5 they stepped away from the 3.5-inch screen the phone toted for the entire time it was around and now with the release of the next phone it is definitely likely that the screen and size will be bigger.
