Apple's rumored 4-inch iPhone has been given a handful of features courtesy of 9To5Mac.
According to the site the "special edition" of the iPhone 5 will bring back the 4-inch screen for users who are uncomfortable with the increase in size of the 6 and 6 Plus devices. The trade-up being that the 5e will include hardware u[grades found in Apple's later model devices.
9To5Mac provides a list of features coming to the iPhone 5e and are as follows:
- The chamfered, shiny edges have been replaced with curved glass like on the iPhone 6 and 6s lines
- The same 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front camera systems from the iPhone 6
- Support for larger panoramas and autofocus for video recording
- Barometer for tracking elevation in the Health app
- An NFC chip for Apple Pay
- The A8 and M8 chips from the iPhone 6
- Bluetooth 4.2, VoLTE, and 802.11ac WiFi chips from the iPhone 6s
- Live Photos from the iPhone 6s
- Same Silver, Space Gray, Gold, & Rose Gold color options as the 6s line
The 5e will likely take over for the 5s, with the older phone being discontinued altogether. The report goes so far as to say that the new model of iPhone will be unveiled in March, alongside the equally unconfirmed Apple Watch 2.
