Walmart has permanantly lowered the prices of both the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. The prices start out for the 16GB iPhone 4S in its AT&T, Sprint or Verizon forms at $39 on contract, instead of $90. The 16GB iPhone 5 for those same networks is dropping to $129 from its usual $190.

Unfortunately T-Mobile users are left out the loop for now.
It's not hard to understand Walmart's sudden generosity, when the iPhone range is nearing its annual upgrade, the lower prices should keep current units moving.
A theory for the sudden price drop is the rumor that Apple will be releasing two new iPhone's come this September. The much rumored and anticipated iPhone 5S and low-cost iPhone have been said to be released for fall.

While both may look like cheap deals, you have to remember we are nearing the launch of the next iPhone and a contract will tie you to that phone for a couple of years. So if you pick up the iPhone 4S it will be a four-year-old device by the time you can upgrade.

The new iPhone 5S is said to look just like the current model iPhone 5 with minor tweaks to the camera but the device will tote a whole new interior redesigned. Where the low-cost iPhone is to be a multi-colored downgraded version of Apple's iPhone 5.
If you are in the market for a new phone this seems like the perfect time to get pick up one of these devices but if you are holding out for the new iPhone 5S or low-cost iPhone you should wait and think because that two-year agreement will hinder your plans.
