Unbox Therapy has shared a video on YouTube comparing the shell of the second-generation iPad mini to the existing iPad mini and the upcoming fifth-generation iPad. The shell shown in the new video, which has also been seen in leaked photos, has a form factor nearly identical to the existing iPad mini. The only difference between the two shells is the mirrored silver Apple logo on the back of the second generation iPad mini. The current generation iPad mini totes a black Apple logo on the rear shell.
The details are foggy on the next-generation iPad mini but from the looks of it the new device will not feature any design changes. It is expected to be a major upgrade to the existing iPad mini because of the inclusion of a much-desired Retina display. The video provides a comparison of not only the iPad mini shell but the current fifth-generation iPad shell. The fifth-generation iPad appears to be as thin as the iPad mini, and the size difference between the two tablets is smaller. The iPad mini measures 20cm in height and the fifth-generation iPad measures 23cm tall.
Apple's iPad five has been rumored to share numerous design aesthetics with the iPad mini, featuring a rounded shell, narrower size bezels and a more compact design. Apple is expected to unveil both the second-generation iPad mini and the fifth-generation iPad later this year. It was rumored that Apple would be revealing both iPads and two new iPhones at their media event September 10 but those rumors have been dismissed by numerous websites.
