iPad Air
New iPad Pro to have A8X processor. Apple

iPad Air was the most exciting newcomer at yesterday's Apple Launch event in San Francisco. However, USAToday suggests that the name change has ignited rumors of an iPad Pro being launched next year. The iPad Pro would be a heavier-duty version of the iPad Air, capable of tasks normally carried out by PCs. The iPad Air is the fastest and lightes version of Apple's flagship product. Yet the decision to rename the product, rather than addin a number to the next generation, has sparked the rumor mill. Will Power, an analyst at RW Baird says that "the name change is likely intentional. Everything that Apple articulates it does for a reason. Developing an iPad that is better designed for productivity is something that could very well make sense."

iPad Air ignited an internet frenzy, but it wasn't just what the device had that sparked interest, it was also what it was missing that set the tech world ablaze. According to CNET, "there's very clearly room for Apple to expand what it is that's part of the tablet." The iPad Pro might include more storage and bigger RAM, which would make a difference even on an iOS product. The new 64-bit processor has fueled speculation that increased storage and RAM could be a possibility soon. But the biggest difference on the iPad Pro coud be a larger screen, perhaps even one as big as 13 inches. There are some reports that suggest the company may be exploring the option for future tablets.

Apple announced the release of the iPad air yesterday at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco. The press release reads: "Apple today announced the iPad Air, the latest generation of its category defining device, featuring a stunning 9.7-inch Retina display in a new thinner and lighter design. Precision engineered to weigh just one pound, iPad Air is 20 percent thinner and 28 percent lighter than the fourth generation iPad, and with a narrower bezel the borders of iPad Air are dramatically thinner - making content even more immersive. Apple today also announced iPad mini with Retina display, bringing all the pixels from the 9.7-inch iPad to its 7.9-inch screen, delivering razor sharp text and detail in the same amazing thin and light design."
